• Color temperature plays a significant role in parking lot lights. Some municipalities are set in their ways and require a color temperature of 3000k for most lamps, which is an
orangish color. This temperature is not optimal for security but is optimal for dogs, deer, plants, and turtles. The 3000k color spectrum temperature prevents the human eye
from accurately identifying what color is in their surroundings, including vehicle and clothing color.

• Moving up to 4000k Kelvin color to 4500k, 4700k, and even up to 5000k, this light color temperature range more closely resembles sunlight, a crisp white light. This color range
is optimal for security and safety. This color temperature light is close to what you would find in a Home Depot parking lot or stadium parking area. When you need to see,
be able to identify your surroundings, and safety is paramount, you choose 4000-5000 kelvin color temperature. This temperature range is the most optimal for a parking area.

• Color temperature over 6000k+ the light starts to take on a blueish hue. Once color specifications reach 6000k or above in LED lighting the quality begins to depreciate.
Manufacturers that choose the 6000k+ color spectrum temperature range are not concerned with the light output, the safety of the consumer, or the quality of light.
They are making a product for an economy-minded consumer that requires light but cannot afford a premium color temperature. If you see lights in the 6000k or higher,
be aware you are buying lights that are most likely sold on amazon or to third-world clients.
